Sew very fun

I have been working on these pants forever!! I saw them at my favorite sewing store here in Columbus, Sew to Speak, and I just had to get the pattern. Unfortunately, they came from a book that was out of stock. I decided to order the book from the library and see about copying the pattern. If I started on the pants right when I got the book, I would have been able to make like a dozen pairs by now. However, I am of the mindset that a project isn't worth doing unless you have it sitting around half done for a few months. I was so worried they wouldn't fit by the time I finished, that I went into overdrive yesterday and finally finished the pants. Lincoln was a little worried that they were too bright for Church. I think they totally worked.
Bonus: The pants are reversible, so I feel like I really made two pairs.

I guess I owe it to Project Runway for always putting the sewing bug in me. I have other half finished and not yet started projects that I am so excited to show you. I have a friend, Ashley who has the sewing bug big time! I am so impressed with the dresses she makes for church. You really must check out her blog for inspiration. I have been really into sewing blogs lately (don't worry, I plan on keeping this blog focused on hair and fashion) I am amazed at what some people think of. Here are some of my favorites.

Let me know what you think. I want to see some of your projects and hear what you think about sewing. Is it worth it? Do you have any interest? Would you let your son wear hippo pants to church?

P.S. I know the pictures of Clark's new pants aren't very good, but it is the best we could do with a little boy after church who just can't sit still.

I love his pants! I love that Lincoln didn't want you to have him wear them to church but you totally did anyways! ha ha LOL

I am so excited to do our sewing project!! Can't wait! :)

There's a site called Refasionista where she remakes frumpy clothes into updated outfits. I don't agree with her taste most of the time, but it's remarkable what she makes. Cute pants!

Of course sewing is worth it! And of course I would let my son wear hippo pants to church. I'm shocked that it was even an issue. My girls have dresses they've worn to church with skulls and bones on them. That seems worse than hippos. At least hippos are family-friendly.

I added all the sewing blogs you mentioned in this post to my google reader. I haven't sewed anything in a long time, but I definately have the itch for it. Not sure what I'm waiting for.

By the way, I loved all the ties you made for Lincoln. I made Dan one tie and he wears it all the time. I should make him some more.

What a cutie, and I love those pants!!! So so cute. I love the picture of him, too. I don't think it is bad, I think it shows a little personality and I love it! What a fun little guy. I love sewing and haven't done it in too long!
